In 2011 people around the world gathered in the main squares of their capital cities to claim their rights. Tahrir Square in Egypt became the symbol of the Arab spring. In Europe Puerta del del Sol in Madrid and Plaza Catalunya In Barcelona gave birth to the indignados movement which then spread out in European capitals. Occupy Wall Street #OWS a movement born in Canada moved to the US becoming the symbol of the protests of North American people against against the intrusion of financial and banking world in the political life.Many found their voices using the Internet and instant messaging to inform, inspire and mobilize supporters to seek their basic human rights.
